Origen y Herida
Las 6 piezas performáticas constituyen una revisión de la profunda herida colonial, del racismo sistémico, estructural y cotidiano en Guatemala, pero también una reivindicación de los orígenes indígenas. Seis acciones corpóreas que se relacionan con objetos y tejidos de orden ancestral Maya K´i che´s heredados por su familia y que representan memoriales del origen. Piel, La Refundación de Abya-Yala, Memoria en Blanco, Moler el Olvido /Amasar la Sangre, Sueños debajo del Ya´ y Desatando a Gucumatz, son piezas trabajadas bajo conceptos y elementos que el artista integra a su cuerpo para luego resignificarlas y crear una poética de la memoria india. Recuperar, reconfigurar, poetizar, divulgar y compartir la memoria indígena familiar personal a través del arte de la performance.
Origin and Wound
The photographic record of the 6 performances constitute a revision of the deep colonial wound of systemic, structural and cotidian racism in Guatemala, but it’s also a claim of their indigenous origins. 6 performative actions that relate with objects and weaves of Maya K’iche’s ancestral order inherited by their family and that represent memorials of the origin. Skin, the Refundation of Abiayala, Memory in White, Grind Forgetfulness / Knead the Blood, Dreams under the Ya’* and Awakening of Gucumatz, are pieces worked under concepts and elements that the artist integrates into their body for later creating a poetic of the ‘native’ memory. Recovering, modifying, to poetize, divulge and share indigenous ancestral memory through performance art.
